Description
Featuring European lock, the flat lockplate engraved with a script”M” inside a diamond and
the cock with scrolling foliage. Fine quality tapering octagonal to round 11 1/2″ barrel of
approximately .58 caliber, with false Damascus pattern and latten inlaid maker’s mark; the
entire surface covered with silver stars, geometric patterns, and perpendicular bands.
Walnut full stock with brass mounts, including trigger guard, butt cap and tang, side plate,
and ramrod thimbles. While the ramrod is removable, it is too small to be of any use, nor is
the channel deep enough, so it is likely a “false ramrod”, as often found on Ottoman pistols.
Metal partially cleaned, with some rust patina, the bore with considerable surface rust; stock
with minor bruises, scractches, and handling marks. Overall length 18″ (45.7 cm).
