WWI 1-pounder Trench Art Lamp

Description

Made from a complete inert unfired US Navy 1-pounder cartridge, the casing base marked
“WMFG CO./2-1918/1Pdr/LOT 60 (anchor) JBS”. Steel projectile with copper rifling band,
the base marked “1-PDR.MK.V/17-THE TOLEDO SCREW PRODUCTS CO.” with anchor
and lot number. Attached to the tip of the projectile is a switched brass lamp socket. The
cartridge case is embossed with roses on a stippled background and the shell is mounted
on a turned mahogany base. In operating condition with modern wiring, including torpedo
bulb and silk shade. Weight 2 pounds 5 ounces, height including shade 15 3/4″. Pleasing
