Description
Cast brass hilt decorated with human figures and foliage in Rococo style, consisting of
asymmetrical shell guard, small pas d’ane, reverse scroll quillon, and knuckle bow
connected to the ovoid pommel. Solid brass one-piece grip decorated ensuite. Double-
edged 28 ½” blade of hexagonal section with long oval-section ricasso, the upper third
decorated with Rococo style engravings. Very good condition, the hilt polished in
European fashion with remains of brass polish in the recesses (looks worse in the photos
than in person). The blade cleaned, with patches of light to moderate pitting; the tip with a
slight bend. Overall length 34″.
