Description
The Austrian Model 1765 Grenadier saber was only produced between 1765 and 1769. It features a brass stirrup hilt with double langets, straight reverse quillon, birds-head pommel and integral backstrap. Original ribbed wood grip with black leather wrap. Broad, curved 25 3/4” (65 cm) un-fullered single-edged blade with no visible markings. Everything tight and original, the brass cleaned and blade heavily pitted, probably from long storage in a leather scabbard (no longer present). Overall length 31” (79 cm)
