German Combination Hunting Sword/Flintlock Pistol, Mid-18th C

Description

Featuring slightly curved 23″ single-edged blade with broad fuller; the last 7″ double-edged.
Brass hilt with down-turned shell guard and scroll quillon; integral knuckle bow attached to
the grooved horn grip. Small brass pommel cap with button finial. Attached to the blade
with two screws is a brass boxlock flintlock pistol with integral 3″ barrel with cannon muzzle.
Frame is not proofed or maker marked, but has engraved floral decor and decorative
border. Very good condition with smooth blade mechanically excellent. Small repaired
ship at the base of the horn grip. Overall length 28 1/4″.
