Description
Steel hilt with asymmetrical guard finely chiseled in relief with foot soldiers and cavalry.
Quillon block chiseled on each side with a horseman; the quillon finials chiseled as open-
mouthed monster heads in the round. Grip wrapped with two sizes of twisted iron wire
with ferrules top and bottom. Pommel chiseled ensuite and the inside of the guard also
chiseled. 18th C double-edged 32 ½” colichimarde blade of hexagonal-section with traces
of engraving on the forte. Overall length 38 ½”. Very good quality and condition.
