Chiseled steel hilt featuring slightly recurved quillons, pas d’ane not connected to the,
symmetrical shell guard, and ovoid pommel with button; all chiseled ensuite with classical
foliate design. Grip with twisted copper wire wrap and Turks heads top and bottom.
Triangular-section hollow ground 29 5/8″ blade with inlaid brass foliate design at the forte.
Overall length 36 5/8″. Possibly French, though there is nothing definitive on either blade
nor hilt to confirm country of origin. Shows some wear to the outside of the shell guard and
blade has pitting.
