Description
Iron hilt of hexagonal-section bars featuring down-curved reverse quillon, large pas d’ane,
knucklebow and a pair of up-turned bars extending from the base of the pas d’ane with
another bar curving around to join the knucklebow; fluted triangular quillon block. Tapering
cylindrical pommel with chiseled fluted vertical line decor on the sides; grip with later
twisted brass wire wrap (minor damage) and ferrules. Double-edged 41″ blade of
hexagonal-section with tapering ricasso and shallow central fuller incised with running wolf
mark and illegible inscription. Blade pitted and point rounded; age patina on all metal
surfaces. Overall length 46″
