Description
Featuring iron hilt of characteristic form with double down-turned quillons with scroll finials
and single side ring; bun-shaped pommel with a pair of incised horizontal lines and small
button. Spiral grip wrapped with two sizes of twisted iron wire with turks heads top and
bottom. Double-edged 16 ½” blade with double fullers extending to within 2 ½” of the
tapering point; stamped with a pair of eyelash marks in the fuller on each side. Metal
cleaned with light to moderate pitting, the heaviest on the blade and pommel. Overall
length 21 1/4″. The last one of these we had sold for $3000.
