Description
Head featuring six copper-brazed asymmetrical iron flanges with three projections each;
acorn finial and turned baluster base. Solid 13″ forged iron shaft of spiral shape with
incised lines in the recesses. Slightly tapered 5 1/4″ steel grip wrapped with cord and likely
its original black leather; small copper-brazed octagonal iron guard with molded edge and
round disc-shaped pommel cap. Cleaned and pitted overall showing lamination and dark
gunmetal patina. Overall length 24 1/8″ (61.3 cm), weight 2 pounds 11 ounces (1223 g).
