Description
Cane body composed entirely of sections of ivory, beautifully carved with foliage and an
eagle in Oriental style; the carving stained black. Conical metal cap nailed on the bottom
section. 18th C European 11″ hollow-ground triangular-section blade, lightly engraved
with foliage and stands of arms; possibly cut down from a smallsword blade. Grip is
carved in low relief with a Japanese samurai warrior wielding a sword; engraved silver
medallion on the cap. There is a single tight crack running the length of the second
section from the bottom, otherwise very good complete condition. Blade lightly pitted.
Overall length of cane 36″. One of the finest sword canes currently on the market. No
export outside the US.
