Seneca (Iroquois) Spiked Tomahawk, 18th C

Description

This classic shaped spiked tomahawk was made for fighting and features a 2″ cutting
edge, square-section spike, and oval eye. The 6″ long head is mounted on a later haft
with a dark aged patina. Most of these spike axes were carried by the Seneca Indians who
were known as the fiercest of the Iroquois confederation. Popular throughout the 1700’s,
these pieces were carried by both Indians and soldiers during the American Revolution.
